BusinessObjects BI Configuration

Here are the step-by-step instruction for BusinessObject BI System monitoring configuration:

  1. In the Top menu Navigate to Dashboards > Administrator

  2. In the Administrator Dashboard, locate the BusinessObjects Systems tile and click on the header to expand

  3. Click on (plus) tool icon to add a new BO Data Services system for monitoring

  4. The Wizard will start prompting the screen show below. Please fill in the values as required, click (plus) when completed and ready for the next step

  5. If successful the new BI System configuration will be created and the following dialog will pop up

  6. Click OK to proceed to the next step for monitoring credentials configuration. Fill in the fields as required. Make sure you specify the previously specified System ID value in the Domain field, use the same . Click (plus) to proceed to the next step

  7. If successful a new BODS monitoring account will be created and the following dialog will pop up:


  8. Click OK to complete the configuration. The newly configured system will show up in the list:

  9. Allow 5 minutes for the Gateway to pick up the new application to monitor. If the Application monitoring has started successfully the status should change to InProgress. If the status remains Ready inspect the application log by clicking on the log tool icon and troubleshoot if there are connection issues.
  10. When the status of the application is InProgress, the BI system monitoring has started. The initial discovery of the components takes approximately 10-15 minutes. You can click on "Grid" tool icon to see the system monitoring hierarchy and configure component monitoring:
