Notifications

IT-Conductor Notification is based on Subscription model - Users subscribe to Service elements to receive notification on status changes and alerts related to the element or its children.
The Subscription are created for individual Users, Group, Roles or Organizational Units. Please see the Creating Notification Subscriptions for more details

Notifying Users, Groups, Roles and Distribution Lists

When selecting a notification subscriber you can choose either your own User Account or one of the Groups/Roles your account is a member/assignee.
When the notification is created, IT-Conductor figures out all user accounts that are the members or assignee of the selected group or role. The notification is sent only once to a single user account

The user account has so-called Notification Targets - these are e-mail addresses with the optional scheduling properties. A user can maintain his/her own Targets and configure them to be active based on a schedule. When a notification is sent to a user, the e-mails are generated to all active (at the time) Target

A special case is Distribution List - this is a special type of User account that can be selected as a Subscriber. Distribution List can be created easily in the Administration dashboard or via Management/Distribution List menu. Administrators can maintain lists' Notification Targets. Distribution Lists are a convenient way for notifying people in your organization who do not need/allowed to have IT-Conductor account
